Satyananda Healing Class at Athena BHS

Spiritual healing through music and meditation practices has been recognized for centuries as a powerful tool to restore balance and harmony to the mind, body, and spirit. Both music and meditation have a profound impact on the brain and nervous system, helping to reduce stress, alleviate anxiety, and improve overall well-being. Sattyanand Healing Classes combine music and meditation to offer a holistic treatment program for participants. The main aegis of these classes is to help the participant achieve stress reduction, spiritual development, self-realization and overall well-being.

The Sattyananda Healing Class was held at the Athena Behavioral Health facility on October 29, 2022. Led by Sattyananda, a certified healer, this class focused on the Nada Yoga healing system, which combines elements of yoga, meditation, music, and energy healing. The Sattyananda healing system is based on the principle that the body has an innate ability to heal itself and that by removing blockages in the energy channels, the body’s healing capacity can be enhanced.

Participants were introduced to this powerful healing technique through music and meditation drills, which helped them to connect with their own healing energy. Music has a unique ability to bypass the conscious mind and directly affect the subconscious. When one listens to music, the brainwaves synchronize with the rhythm and melody, producing a state of deep relaxation and mental clarity. This state of mind is ideal for spiritual healing, as it allows one to connect with our inner selves and access higher levels of consciousness.

Sattyananda also used guided meditations as a tool personalized to cater to specific needs, such as healing emotional trauma, releasing stress and anxiety, or enhancing creativity and intuition. After the class, participants shared that they felt more calm and relaxed and showed better treatment response.
